This episode had everything that makes LG fun to watch-- snappy, popular culture references, a previously unheard of mythological character, some sleuthing by the Bo and Kenzi detective agency, and just the right amount of angst.
Dead baby sitter (who is really a Duppy) is being used by a power hungry coven of witches to knock off cheating spouses and anyone else they want to get rid of. Per Wikipedia, a Duppy is a Jamaican Patois word of Northwest African origin meaning ghost or spirit. Duppies are generally regarded as malevolent spirits. Anyway this poor Duppy doesn't know she's dead until Kenzi breaks it to her. She asks Bo to kill her so she can't be used to harm anyone else. That was a touching scene.
Dyson uses his wolfie senses to sniff out a Fae killing field. There are all types of dead Fae buried there. Tamsin (who is a hot mess) keeps trying to tell Dyson something but never quite gets it out.
It turns out Lauren (or should we call her Karen) has some skeletons of her own. The mysterious scientist we saw in the last episode convinces her to work with him. Hale won't let her go but she takes off her necklace and leaves anyway. Noooo Lauren. Don't do it. That guy is up to something (I know cause I saw next week's previews).
Only two episodes to go till the season finale but have no fear. They'll be back for season 4.
Wikipedia:
Episode 11 "Adventures in Pae-bysitting"
Bo is approached by a babysitter who claims that something happened to her employer. Dyson is approached by a Fae who lost contact with her twin sister and believes something happened. Bo discovers the babysitter is Fae and a coven of witches have taken control of her. Bo stops them with some mysterious help, and then, at the behest of the babysitter, kills her so she cannot be used again. Tamsin and Dyson go over the kills that were assumed be Bo’s and find someone is killing mass numbers of Fae, but do not know who. Lauren is offered a job, but after her past is investigated, it appears that she is a fugitive from the law. She decides to make a break with the Fae and leaves, severing her connections with them completely.
Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). This was a fun episode all around. I would have given it 4 Monsters but since there's a threat of Lauren not coming back, it gets only 3 1/2. Lauren better be back in the next episode busters!!!
