Once Upon A Time Episode 19 Recap: Lacey (Minus Cagney)

This episode focused mainly on Belle and Rumple (er Rumbelle if you ship them). Belle finally leaves the hospital. We think Rumple is going to help her regain her memory but Regina beats him to the punch and gives Belle a matchbook from "The Rabbit Hole". Regina used magic to give Belle fake memories. I thought the "Rabbit Hole" would be a nudie bar and Belle would be a pole dancer. But I digress. She's actually a pool shark named Lacey.

Rumple goes to Charming for dating advice. Now he owes David a favor. Belle/Lacey agrees to go out with Rumple. Is there nowhere else in Storeybrooke to go on a date besides Granny's?  It doesn't go as planned. She's not interested until she finds him beating the crap out of her would be suitor Keith (who is also the Sheriff of Nottingham in the flashback below). That Lacey is one bad ass chick. Now Rumple doesn't have a chance of being good.

Flashback to Rumple, Belle and Robin Hood in the Enchanted Forest. Is there no one who doesn't live there? Next we'll see BigFoot and the LochNess Monster. Bigfoot is probably Regina's Handy Man (err Handy Foot). Robin Hood stole Rumple's wand to heal his pregnant Lady Love Marian. Rumple pretends to shoot at him with an arrow but misses on purpose. Back at Rumple Manor he shows Belle a whole library of books he wants her to clear (err actually read).

Meanwhile back in Storeybrooke we find out a pint sized Anton and the Dwarves have a hidden magic bean field. This is how they all plan to get back to Fairytale Land. Emma opens her big mouth and tells Regina she needs to focus on being a better person or risk losing Henry forever. Of course Regina knows something is up and finds the cloaked field.

The last scene is of Out of Town Greg (Owen) and Tamara hatching a plan that involves a bound and gagged Hook in the back of a UHaul. We don't know what they're up to but you can beat it's no good.

While we NEVER get to see enough scenes with Regina we at least saw her in the hospital with Belle, in the Mayor's office with Gold, outside talking to Emma and trailing the dwarves to find the hidden magic bean field. Ill take whatever I can get these days.

Favorite quotes:

  •  “You can’t tell what’s in a person’s heart until you truly know them"- Belle about Rumple.
  • "Apparently fate has a sense of humor"- Rumple to Regina after he tells her he's Henry's grandfather.
  •  “You are as dark as people say.” “Darker, dearie, much darker.”- Lacy and Rumple exchange.
  •  “But what about the ogres, the destruction, the danger?"- Emma to the parents about their plan to go back to FTL. This translates to "If Regina's not going, I'm not going either."

Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). Three more episodes till the end of the season. The next episode is entitled "The Evil Queen". Yeah, finally some more air time for EQ!!!
