Siberia Episode 10 Recap: Strange Bedfellows With Funny Feet

Only one episode to go till the end. If we don't get a season 2 (it's looking like a "no"), there are LOTS of loose ends to wrap up next week. I hope we get at least a few answers. Here's what we learned during episode 10 entitled "Strange Bedfellows":
  • The people with the funny shoes from last week are the Evenki. They are an indigenous tribe that was mentioned in the journal. They take Neeko, Sabina, and Miljan to their camp. Surprise! They also have Annie and Esther and yes even Irene (whose leg has miraculously healed).
  • An Evenki woman who speaks English tells the contestants they have trespassed and put the tribe in great danger. The shaman has some magic 'shrooms and says they must leave right away. Sabina sees Sasha (the little girl she met previously in the woods).
  • Meanwhile back at the research station, Daniel and Sam are having a hard time making contact with the outside world (since the antennae was destroyed). They run some wire along the roof. Daniel falls off a ladder. The cameraman finally decides to be of use and they make contact.
  • They find two Revealers in the lab. One says primate group A. The Revealer at the camp said group C. What's that about?
  • Johnny and Joyce get in a fight and then make up... With their lips.
  • Before the Evenki can take everyone back, they are attacked by the Valley Men (Mangini). Good, I'm glad there's something mysterious actually going on (and its not just joksters in funny shoes). Our group must go through Mangini territory in order to reach some white people (ie civilization). Sounds easy enough, right?  Except if they're heading for the research station, those guys are not going to be much help cause they're D-E-A-D.
  • How was that hawk still alive in the cage?
So what's really going on:
  • Psychological experiments- this seems the most plausible explanation (with the Skinner boxes, etc)
  • Genetic manipulation- the Mangini were a previous test group that escaped and now they're pissed.
  • Time travel- maybe that creature is a prehistoric bird that come through when the "white men" did. Did a wormhole open and flatten all those trees back in 1908?  Remember the drawings on that rock that Daniel found showed some large bird type creature and a swirly circle behind it.
  • Russian government- if all else fails, blame the government. And what was up with those jet fighters flying overhead?
  • And are we ever going to find out what that symbol means?

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). I still love this show and I don't care what anyone else says.
