The Bridge Episode 8-9 Recaps: Vendetta and The Beetle

You really need a score card to keep track of all the goings on on this show. Here's what we know:

The killer is NOT Childress. That was just a setup. The real killer is... Wait for it... FBI agent David Tate who is Kenneth Hasting who is also that bald dude who is having an affair with Alma (Marco's pregnant wife). Got that straight?
Ken also killed Santi Jr (who was responsible for his wife and son's deaths in a car accident some six years earlier). We saw that in the opening scene of episode 9 (great acting by guy playing Ken)! And if that weren't enough, Marco was also having an affair with Ken's wife (Jill) right before she died. Alma is now in danger because Ken plans to take Marco's wife away in the same way he lost his. My, serial killers apparently have a lot more energy for such things than I do.
And Daniel Frye had some connection to Santi before he killed Ken's wife and son. What exactly, I'm not sure other than they were doing drugs together, but that's why he has been receiving calls from the killer (and was strapped to some explosives in his car earlier).
Charlotte and Caesar off Graciela (death by pitchfork). I didn't see that coming. I thought she would be around longer. And why was Charlotte's boyfriend Ray selling them guns with hidden transmitters? Maybe he's not as stupid as I thought.
Ken locks Alma and the girls in a shed in the desert. He put a grenade (minus the pin) in her hand before he left. Ruiz to the rescue. He gets the grenade from her and throws it away. Everyone is safe. That was uneventful.
As you will recall, beads were left on Ken's previous victims. It turns out they were all from Jill's necklace. That must have been one hell of a long necklace.
Gus (Marco's son) has the hots for Sonya. He refers to her as a MILF. She says but I have no children. That Sonya is a hoot.
Do we care what Linder is up to? Is Hank innocent or somehow involved? I still don't trust Cooper and his big mustache.
In the last scene, Sonya is taking Gus home. They are side swiped by a truck. Their vehicle turns over. A driver gets out and removes Gus. It is none other than Ken. Luckily Sonya (who appears to be severely injured) sees his license plate before she passes out.

Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out as 5). As with "Under The Dome", I've never really gotten attached to "The Bridge". That feeling may have just changed. There are 4 episodes to go till the end of the season.
