Venice The Series Episode 5 Recap: For Gods Sake, Tell Her About The Letter Already!

When we last saw them, Gina was heading to the restaurant with her mother's ring to ask Ani to marry her. Little did she know that the reason Ani was there was a surprise engagement party for her and Lara thrown by sneaky snake brother Jake. Jamie tries to intercept Gina as she arrives but no such luck. He should have tackled her. Talk about uncomfortable moments. At least she managed not to spaz when she found out what the situation was. I would have run out screaming with arms and legs flailing.

Gina politely takes her leave. Ani wants to run after her. Lara tries to get her to stay but she goes anyway. Uh Lara that should give you a CLUE where you stand in this relationship. Alan congratulates Jake on the latest developments. We still don't know why they hate her so much. Jake says that's a conversation for another time.

Ani finds Gina at the beach (cause that's always where she goes when she's upset, we all know that). Ani says she wanted to tell Gina about the engagement but the time was never right. She says point blank that if Gina was willing to commit and could share her emotions, Ani would still be with her. At this point you think Gina MIGHT mention the letter (which Ani of course never saw because Lara burned it). For God's sake Gina, just ask her why she never responded to the letter. My poor heart cant take much more of this. Gina wishes her a wonderful life and tells Ani she cant see her anymore because it's too painful. Yes, I agree. This is painful for me too.

Meanwhile, Owen is in heaven watching everything unfold. His case worker angel is busy crocheting something (maybe some wing covers). Back on earth, Guya is trying to get Brandon to stop investigating Van's (Guya's son) possible connection to Owen's murder. Do we think he's somehow involved? Sarah (Gina's daughter) is cooking for the Colonel. Looks like she's planning on staying around for a while.

In the last scene, Gina goes home but leaves her keys in the door. Someone comes in behind her but we don't know who. My guess is its NOT Ani. Hmm could it be Lara? She may get drunk and try to kill Gina. Is that why Owen is hanging out in Heaven's waiting room? Eeeekkkk.

Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). Not my most favorite episode but they cant all be great. I'm still very happy with the season thus far.
