Siberia Episode 11 Recap: Into The Oven (Series Finale)

Well that was one of the stranger finales I've seen. None of our questions were answered (and in fact not a great deal happened in this episode):
  • Neeko, Sabina, Esther, Miljan, Annie and Irene head down the road the Evenki people pointed them towards. This leads to the Russian research station (where Joyce, Daniel, Johnny and Sam have been for a while). There is a happy reunion... except... where is Irene? Oops she stepped on a land mine and is afraid to move. Daniel says don't worry. It's a dud. Uh how does Daniel know? There is a sign in ENGLISH that reads "Danger: Minefield" so I would be more likely to trust that. Turns out it really was a dud. Go figure.
  • Anyway, they all get back to the station and swap war stories-- Sam almost died from frostbite, Johnny was electrocuted, and Natalie really did die. Annie is still very upset over Natalie's death.
  • A truckload of what looks like Russian army guys arrive. Yeah, they're saved. Uh, no they're not. They are holding everyone at gunpoint. Joyce tries to tell them they're all contestants on a reality show. Bad idea. They point a gun at their head and are about to shoot. Just then, they're attacked by someone/something. The campers are hustled back into the building (where Sam tells them the Russians were planning to kill all of them).
  • During the gun battle, which lasts a long time, they make a break for the truck and take off. Everyone is in the truck except for Annie. They slow down for her but she is shot in the back and collapses. They are forced to drive away.
  • The truck gets stuck in the snow. Everyone gets out to push while Esther steers. Anyone else think that is a bad idea? Why yes I do! When they dislodge the truck she keeps on driving (without them). Miljan then says Esther had the prize money ($500,000) from the Revealer all along.
  • They walk to an abandoned town (everyone has been evacuated for some reason). There is a light on in one of the apartments. They go upstairs but no one is home. Sabina tells them about the video she took. They watch it. Its of Johnny and Joyce's time in the woods (which they cant remember). They find what looks like a space ship. Yes! Just as ancient astronaut theorists believe-- the answer is ALWAYS aliens. See my past reviews of "Ancient Aliens" if you don't believe me.
  • The video then shows some "creature" (I'm not sure what it is but it appears to be unhappy). It shoots a green light into the sky. I previously assumed the lights were just the Russian equivalent of the Northern Lights. Someone is at the door (cause they weren't too hard to find since they're in the only apartment with electricity in the whole town). Anyway they open the door and it's... wait for it... it's the host of the show (Buckley, the Australian dude) dressed in a soldier uniform. He says "you shouldn't be here"... and end scene.
So what does it all mean? I have no idea. Were aliens responsible for all the goings on? Are they the Valley Men? And who killed all those guys at the research station? What did the animal experimentation have to do with anything? Has anyone else but me watched this show?

Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5) for this episode. I would give the series as a whole 4 Monsters. I will miss you "Siberia". I only wished more people would have watched so we could have a season 2.
