Dracula Episode 8 Recap: They Dont Call Him Vlad The Impaler For Nothing

I don't care what the critics say, I still love this show. I'm going to enjoy it as long as it lasts. I only know of two new episodes. Please leave a message in the comments below if there are others.
This episode entitled "Come To Die" has all of the main characters becoming slightly unhinged-- which makes for good television.
  • Dracula becomes more obsessed with Mina by the day (as if that were even possible). After spending yet another night pining outside her window, Renfield asks how long this will continue? "Either take her or walk away" is his advice but Dracula cannot bear to do either. Dude, you could use the vampire card. Can't ya hypnotize her or something?
  • Meanwhile Mina's father already suspects that she is in love with "the American". She tells him that Grayson is a "magnetic force" that she cannot help but be drawn to. Her father's advise is to follow her heart (so that would mean Harker is out and Grayson is in).
  • Mina is attacked by some thugs courtesy of the Order of the Dragon. Dracula saves her by tearing them limb from limb (literally) and impaling them on a fence. Once an impaler, always an impaler.
  • Lady Jayne suspects an elder vampire is still in town. Remember they already killed one but there must be another because vampire attacks are WAY up. She gets a few more details from other vamps (he can walk during the day and his name is Dracula). Jayne takes this info to the Order but they don't believe her (cause they're stupid). Later the impaled bodies of Davenport's henchmen are all the proof she needs. Meanwhile Jayne breaks up with Grayson over his feelings for Mina. You'd think she'd be able to put two and two together and figure out that he's Dracula... but I guess not.
  • At Mina's hospital room Alexander tells Jonathan that Davenport is responsible for Mina's attack. Harker goes to his house. After hearing that Mina is Alexander's long lost love and seeing the triptych of her, Jonathan shoots Davenport dead... just as Dracula had planned.
  • Harker had already been become suspicious of Mina and Grayson's relationship before speaking with Davenport. Lucy told him Mina visited Alexander's mansion twice after Jonathan specifically asked her not to. Lucy of course is still trying to exact revenge on Mina for rejecting her by hitting on Harker. Looks like the deal is sealed when Lucy and Jonathan do the horizontal mambo.
  • The scene with Renfield trying to prevent Dracula from leaving to get a blood fix by tackling him was a strange one. He's a vampire and you're not, so guess what that means?
  • In related news we see several flashbacks to Vlad and Ilona before she was burned at the stake and he became a vampire. So let me get this straight-- Vlad used to be a member of the Order Of The Dragon but did something REALLY bad so they turned him into a vampire as punishment? That doesn't sound like a very smart idea... AT ALL! And are Browning and Davenport immortal too? We saw them both in flashbacks but Jonathan shot Davenport so I assume he's dead now? Am I the only one that is confused by this?
  • And Van Helsing has stolen Browning's children as a payback for killing his family. Payback is a bitch, especially on this show.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). Fight scenes, vampire killing, and sexy times (plus very little business speak). Who could ask for more?
