The Curse Of Oak Island Episodes 2-3 Recaps: Nope Still Havent Found The Treasure Yet

In episode 2 entitled "The Mystery of Smith's Cove", the group visits the cove which is believed to be man made. They find strands of what appears to be coconut fibers. A stone with the date "1704" was also found in Smith's Cove previously. They dive in the cove and find some large stones that may point to the money pit. I don't believe anyone would go to such trouble since the markers are UNDER WATER. Episode 3 "Voices From The Grave" details four deaths in the 1960's from poisonous gas (H2S). Lee Lamb visits the island and recounts her father and brother's death. Andrew (who was only one of of two men that survived that day) recounts his story. Lee also brings her brother's logs for the team to search for clues.

Deaths at Oak Island:

1861 - First life claimed by Oak Island. A man was scalded to death by an exploding boiler.
1897 - Second life lost when Maynard Kaiser fell to his death while being pulled out of the pit.
1965 - In one day Oak Island claimed four more lives: Bob and Bobbie Restall, Karl Grasser, and Cyril Hiltz.

Some believe the swamp (and not the shafts) is where the treasure is actually buried. The Lagina brothers start to drain the swamp. To be continued.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). While episode 3 was very touching, I still believe this story could have been told in a two hour movie instead of over five episodes.
