Agent Carter Episode 7 Review: Its Coming Sooner Than You Think

Well folks, we've reached the penultimate episode of "Agent Carter". The finale is next week and I'm already sad. Is there any chance "Agent Carter" might be renewed for a season 2?

"Snafu" opens with a scene from Dr Ivchenko's past. He's helping a Russian doctor during the war. They're out of anesthesia so he must hypnotize a soldier while they cut off his legs. Ouch. That made me squirm.

One Of The Best Scenes. Jarvis Was About To Get Shot By A Switchboard Operator

Fast forward to the SSR offices where Sousa, Thompson and Dooley are interrogating Peg. She holds up well. Jarvis shows up to free Peg with the signed confession of Howard Stark. Meanwhile Dottie is out buying a baby carriage. What a great character. She is delightfully evil.

Dottie Knows How To Make A Glamorous Exit

Dooley regrets some of his life choices since he's currently estranged from his wife and children. Iv sees a weakness and swoops in to brainwash him. The always observant Peg notices the Russian doctor doing his morse code thingy on the window sill. In 19 minutes Leviathan will attack.

Has Anyone Seen Item Number 17? My Ring Tells Me It's Nearby.

After locking Jarvis and Peg in an office, an under the influence Dooley and Ivchenko head to the lab. The doctor is looking for item number 17 (but we're not sure what that is yet). Dottie is stopped in the hallway by Sousa. She of course gets the best of him and makes her escape down the stairwell in a very creative manner. That was fun to watch.

Hmmm How To Escape This Interrogation Room?

Jarvis and Peg debate the various outcomes of smashing an interrogation room mirror with the table they're handcuffed to. They are British so it's all very polite. Dooley heads home with Stark's vest from the lab. But psyche... he's not really home. Dooley is still in the office with the glowing armor on. Stark's invention was strictly experimental. If it overheats it will kill everyone within range. They all try to figure out how to save Dooley but to no avail. Dooley makes Carter promise she will find out who is behind this. He then jumps out a window right before the device explodes (and saves everyone else).

RIP Captain Dooley. You Were A Good Egg.

Sousa heads over the dead dentist's office across the street. He finds Dottie's note that reads"...kill Peggy Carter".  As least they now have some evidence to exonerate Peg.

Dottie and Ivchenko test item #17 in a crowded movie theater. The device is hidden in the baby carriage that was purchased earlier. It apparently releases some sort of biochemical weapon which causes those who inhale it to go mad and kill each other.

Favorite Quotes:

  • "You'll get the son of a bitch who did this?"- Dooley to Peg before he dies.
  • "It's coming sooner than you think."- Dottie buying a baby carriage that's definitely not for a baby.
  • Peg: "Have you ever been hung Mr Jarvis?" Jarvis: "Cant say as I have." Peg: "It's quite unpleasant."
  • Jarvis: "What happens in 19 minutes?" Carter: "Leviathan is coming".
  • "I suppose I just wanted a second change to keep him safe."- Peggy after revealing the vial of Captain America's blood.
  • "I just want to come home. Can I come home?"- Dooley to his wife in his hallucination.
  • "Howard Spark has never scrambled my mind or any other part of me."- Peg.
  • "You think you know me, but I've never been more than what each of you have created. To you, I'm a stray kitten left on your doorstep to be protected. The secretary turned damsel in distress. The girl on the pedestal, transformed into some daft whore. You're behaving like children"- Peg to each of the SSR boys.
  • "I had your back for six months while you're were waiting to plant a knife into mine."- Sousa to Peg.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). Another fun episode. Anything with Dottie in it gets at least a 4. How will it all end next week? I'm REALLY, REALLY hoping for a Dottie vs Peg smackdown. That should take up the entire episode. Who's with me?
