Sleepy Hollow Season 2 Epi 18 Review: Hug It Out (Season Finale)

When we last saw Abbie she had jumped into the time vortex created by EvilKatrina and ended up in 1781 Sleepy Hollow. "Tempus Fugit" is a race against the clock as Abbie tries to save Ichabod before Katrina and Abraham (AKA the Headless Horseman, AKA Death) can kill him once and for all.

Well This Cant Be Good

Upon her arrival, Abbie is promptly thrown into prison. They suspect she's a runaway slave. She convinces the jailer she has valuable war information but will only speak with Ichabod Crane. Ichy obviously has a hard time believing her. Finally he accesses her phone in a funny scene. After seeing a video of himself he's TeamAbbie. Unfortunately Abbie changes Ichabod's timeline by helping him avoid the battle where he was previously killed. When Katrina arrives to "visit" (insert "murder") an injured Ichabod, he isnt there. That was a fun scene.

Ben Likes The Ladies

Ichabod and Abbie head to Ben Franklin's house for help. Remember we saw Ben previously this season. Ichabod also often refers to him. They had a difficult relationship. Ben immediately believes Abbie's story and wants to know all about the future. Many of his inventions are in use and his picture is on the $100 dollar bill. Too bad Ben gets killed when HH shows up. Now the timeline is MAJORLY screwed up.

Abbie & Grace Meeting Was A Touching Scene

Next Abbie and Ichabod turn to Grace Dixon for help. Grace is Abbie's ancestor. Remember Abbie met her spirit previously in the same house. Ichy goes outside to fight Abe and Katrina while Grace feverishly works her magic. Before she casts the spell, Grace tells Abbie to check her journal. The last pages are empty because Abbie/Ichabod's greatest battles are still ahead of them. Ichabod is very close to getting his head chopped off when Abbie (and Katrina) are thrown back into the present.

Evil Katrina Is The Best Katrina

Katrina is not happy with this development. There's a fight. Katrina tries to kill Abbie. Ichabod stabs Katrina instead. She sees GhostHenry (AKA Jeremy AKA War) and then disintegrated in Ichabod's arms.

So in the end, Katrina is definitely dead (or as dead as ya can be on this type of show). Too bad since I like her as an evil witch. Jeremy of course is dead (as of the previous episode). Abbie is back from the past. Jenny and Captain Irving also make a quick appearance. Off everyone goes to fight whatever creatures show up next in Sleepy Hollow.

Ichabod: "Everything you said was true. We're partners." Abbie: "More than that, we're friends"

Grade: 5 Monsters (out of 5). One of the best episodes I've seen. Everything worked. If this is indeed the end of the series, it was a great way to go out. My only complaint is I would have liked to have seen more of Abbie's adventures in the past. She could have really shaken things up in colonial America.
