When Dylan flees Nick's house he runs right into Romero. Romero investigates and determines that Nick Ford is indeed dead. I thought a big drug lord like him would be harder to kill. He then finds one of Ford's henchmen and after a beatdown learns where Norman is being held. Dylan and Romero finally release Norman from the box. He is in bad shape and taken to the hospital. Dylan tells Norma what happened. She tells Dylan she loves him very much. Dylan isnt sure what to do with that so goes to find the doctor. Norman tries to tells Norma what he remembers about Mrs Watson. She tells him to rest instead.
They arrive back at the home. Emma wants to know what is going on. Norma says Norman had the flu. OK that must have been one hell of a flu bug because it beat him up too. In a funny exchange Norman and Norman discuss Emma while walking up the long flight of stairs to the house.
Meanwhile Romero gets Jodi to call her brother Zane. She tells him Ford is dead. Zane arrives at the house but ends up killing Jodi. Romero then shoots Zane. Again, wasnt that too easy?
At dinner Norman tells Norma what he really remembers (despite the fact that she doesnt want to hear it). There is much screaming. She finally tells Norman to eat his pot roast before it gets cold. They later dance and hug and share a way too long kiss on the lips (uncomfortable).
The next day Norma meets with Dylan and tells him she has three tickets to Canada. She wants Dylan to come with them. Dylan says they cant go and that Norman needs to be in an institution where he cant hurt himself or anyone else. They agree that Norman should take the polygraph.
Norman is making a "to do" list. I'm not sure if its a to do list before he kills himself or a to do list to kill everyone else. Luckily, its the former. He tells Emma about Dylan's father and asks her to please stay at the hotel. He then takes the gun and runs into the woods. Norma follows him and eventually tackles him. That woman sure is speedy for a 40 something year old in heels. She agrees to tell Norman what happened with his step father if he gives her the gun. He does and she says Norman killed him while in a blackout (but it was to protect her).
In the final scene, Norma takes the polygraph. Norma and Dylan are there. We think he is going to fail but he imagines his mother saying she is the one who actually killed Blair. She makes him promise not the tell anyone. And Norman passes the polygraph because "he" didnt do it.
So in conclusion, Nick Ford is dead. The other drug family (Jodi/Zane) are dead. There is a void in the drug business which Romero wants Dylan to fill. The hatchet has been buried between Norma and Dylan and there is much hugging. Norman has passed the polygraph test (but Romero is still suspicious). Emma knows some of Norma's past now. It just all seems too tidy. There's no threat left in town except for George and his sister. A new threat will probably arise in season 3. I am of course still be waiting for "Mother" to arrive in full force. And I keep hoping that the story will end differently (since I have grown very attached to Norma). Alas, it is not meant to be.
Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). I gave it a 3 1/2 for the plot but a 4 1/2 for the acting. Vera and Freddie continue to tear up the scenery. They are very compelling to watch. I do wish the show would have ended with more of a cliffhanger though.
TV: Heavy On Sci Fi, Horror & Adventure; Light On Reality
