Salem Episode 3 Recap: Beware Of Freaky Colonial Era Dolls

There's wasnt a ton going in in this episode (entitled "In Vain"). The witches now know that Issac saw them in the woods. This creates a power struggle between Hale and Mary. Mary likes Issac but Hale wants him for the next sacrifice. Mary also finds out (by visiting Issac in jail in the form of his lady love) that John was with him. Uh oh. What to do now? She still loves John somewhere deep down in her evil heart. Hale finds John snooping around the seer's cabin in the woods so he knows John was with Issac too.

The voodoo doll Mary made for Anne is doing it's job. She has sexy dreams of John, Mary and Cotton. Later she is near death and is bleeding from the mouth. Hale sees the doll on the bed and immediately knows the culprit. He goes to Mary and on his knees begs Mary to save his daughter.Mary 1, Hale 0.

George is still in vain trying to remove the frog from his throat. The toad (who I have named "Todd") didnt make an appearance this week. Mercy was also MIA. I'm sure she's still hanging out on that cross at the church.

Who is the older witch woman named Rose that Mary has a conversation with? They talked about choices. Mary doesnt think she had any. And what's up with the orphanage? I didnt know Salem had an orphanage.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). Episode 3 kept up the witchy action. Not sure if enough tension can be maintained between the 4 main characters (Mary, Hale, John and Anne) to last through the season but we'll see. Right now I'm very much enjoying the show.
