Episode 2 "Secret Services" has Pete and Myka teaming up with another boy/girl team to investigate the dry land drownings of several energy big wigs. Turns out the other couple was secret-married but of course Myka and Pete are clueless. Meanwhile Artie helps Claudia go back in time to see her sister Claire (who is still alive). She probably wishes she hadnt seen some of that though since Claire mind-killed her parents against a tree. It looks like Myka's cancer scare is going to be the catalyst for getting Pete and Myka together. There was lots of baby talk (including creepy questioning from Ms Frederic). This turn seems completely out of character for everyone involved.
The team visits a traveling Renaissance Fair in "A Faire To Remember". Claudia finds out that Claire is not dead and instead has been in a coma for 15 years (since Artie doesnt know how to release her negative energy). Claudia uses Bob Dylan's bus ticket and Volta's biscuit barrel to transfer the energy from Claire. Claire wakes up and is none too happy to be thirty something years old. Oppps there was a little problem with the plan. All the crazy negative energy is now in Myka. She is not happy. She's goes off about being alone during her cancer scare. But of course she didnt tell anyone else about it. Claire volunteers to absorb the energy again and return to her comatose state. Myka, Claudia and Artie all have a good cry.
Meanwhile back at the fair, after bagging everything in site, Pete and Jinx find out what's really going on. Kristina, pretending to be her grandmother, read the cards for Oswald the Do-fer. They call him Doofus throughout the episode instead. He wants to win the hand of the princess so the fates throw all sorts of challenges in his way (which may/may not kill others). The best part of the entire episode is the Gypsy Fortune Teller (Madame Doria). She was hilarious! I wish she had been a series regular.
As I mentioned above episode before "Secret Seduction" was my absolute favorite. I know some people hated it but I found it refreshing. Yes I understand time is running out and there are lots of other important loose ends to tie up. It may be bad timing but I still really enjoyed it. A very pregnant ex-girlfriend of Pete's needs their help. "My grandmother's television is possessed". First her grandmother, then the cat, then Kelly, then Pete, Myka and Artie get sucked into a crazy telenovela. After some crazy drama we learn that Hortencia's broach is an artifact. She loved the soap opera so much that it was infused with special powers. The rest of their scenes are in Spanish with English subtitles. Meanwhile Claudia and Jinks investigate a strange case on campus. The artifact is a candle that burns at both ends which splits frat boys into two selves (the partier and the student). Jinks accidentally gets whammied and we see a much more fun flamboyant side. Luckily they neutralize the candle and all is well again. Oh and did I mention some guy too Claire? Leave that poor girl alone. She's been through enough.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). I LOVED "Savage Seduction". That one gets a 5 for sure. "A Faire To Remember" gets a 4 and "Secret Services" gets a 3 1/2. And Madame Doria (the gypsy fortune teller) gets a 5. I really wish we had more time with her.
