Addy Girl, You Need Some Major Therapy

"Sisters Of Mercy" Recap In 10 Words Or Less: Scary Ladies, Murphy Likes Pie, Kelly McGillis, ZomBear & Adios Addy.

This week the group is in Utah. Roberta's crew is FINALLY reunited with the wonder twins (thanks to Citizen Z's help). It's been way too long. They find a young boy walking alone on the road. He's headed to Utah to see his father (but we know Salt Lake City is overrun by zombies). Sam says his friends are already there. Uh no. We just saw them. They're Zs. Roberta says they're out of food and convinces the boy to take them back to his people. She's actually just trying to save his life. It turns out Sam came from a female cult called the "Sisters Of Mercy". They are led by Helen (ie Kelly McGillis of "Top Gun' fame). The camp was built by Helen's husband who is long gone. She apparently offed him because she didnt want to have baby number six. Many of the remaining women are her sister wives. Addy, Roberta and Cassandra (who is injured) are invited in but Mack, Murphy, Doc and 10K have to stay outside.

One Big Happy Family

I'm all for girl power and might even consider joining a commune myself but these women are scary. No floral prints ladies-- not even during the zombie apocalypse. The sisters are heavy on retribution. When a man abuses one of the women, he is fed to the ZomBear. Yes you read that right. Its a bear who is a zombie. Granted the CGI for the bear was horrifically awful but what a great idea. The ZomBear is my new favorite dead animal.

Baby Daddy

One of the women approaches the men. She has a pie. She makes a beeline for Murphy's tent. She rips open his shirt. She apparently likes the partially dead look. They get it on. What was up with her chomping? That was not sexy AT ALL. It was downright frightening. Why did she pick Murphy of all people? There's no accounting for taste. Looks like we'll see a half human, half zombie baby in 9 months. That thing is going to be a killer to breastfeed.

Addy, who as we know has been having emotional issues, buys into the whole sisterhood healing spiel. She plans to stay at the commune. I wonder how long it will take to figure out that Helen is bat shit crazy? She is already exiling the male children after they reach the age of 13 because... ya know... all men are bad.

Mack begs Addy not to leave him especially after everything they've been through together. When the rest of the group leaves Mack runs back. I'm not sure what happened after that. Was he shot? It's not clear. Sam is back on his trek to Salt Lake City. Given he has no protection, he's going to be a zombie snack soon.

Grade: 4 Monsters (out of 5). Less zombie killing than I typically like but more scary people drama. We are once again reminded that humans are more frightening than zombies. Extra, extra bonus points for the ZomBear. We add him to the list of Zornados, Zunamis, ZomBabies and Radioactive Zombies (sorry I dont have a Z name for that last one). Only two episodes left in season 1. Let's pray that the show is renewed. We need to see Murphy Jr!
