Yeah, season 3 of "Doomsday Preppers" is finally here! It feels like it's been a long wait. DP focuses on two families this week (instead of the usual 3). The format was also different in that both stories were interspersed throughout the hour instead of each being done separately. I found the new format to be a bit confusing. How did you like it?
Curt and his family build a fortress in the back woods of Oregon. He has ~80 acres, a lake, a greenhouse and an armored plated escape bug out SUV. While filming, a fire breaks out near them and they have to evacuate their house for a while. He seemed a little frazzled. You would have thought that forest fire would be the first thing he prepped for.
Meanwhile in Alaska .Rodney and his family are also preparing. They live in a fishing village. Both Rodney and his wife were previously in the military. He was an Army Ranger. They have an armored tank. While their daughter doesn't necessarily want to participate she is being exposed to valuable skills just by being around. One new and interesting thing they did was hid food and ammo caches in tubes in the ocean near their home. While I still don't think those will remain intact during a tsunami, they should be good the rest of the time.
Practical Preppers previously did assessments at the end of each show. Maybe they're not doing that anymore? Bummer. Even though I complained about the scoring it was fun to see how people stacked up against each other.
Did anyone else notice that Marie Osmond is now hawking Wise Foods? How did you feel about "Take Our Country Back"?
