When we last saw Gina, she was at the hospital clinging to life. In episode 8 she is reunited with Owen in Heaven's Waiting Room. Luckily Heaven has a stocked bar. Gina isn't sure she wants to go back but Owen encourages her. She has lots of unfinished business on Earth. I am glad they were able to have some closure. If only it worked that way in real life.
I was hoping is that Gina woke up from her near death experience and saw Ani by her bedside. They would profess their love for each other and live happily ever after. But nooo that didn't happen. Instead Gina woke up, saw Ani, and said "leave me alone". Then she makes the fastest recovery in the history of the universe and checks herself out of the hospital-- "dead" to "pain in the ass" in 0.5 seconds.
In other related news, Lara wants to get married LIKE now. This serves a two fold purpose: 1. It will distract Ani from thinking about Gina; and 2. You cant be forced to testify against your spouse in a court of law. That Lara is a quick thinker.
It didn't seem a great lot happened in episode 9. I'm hoping all hell breaks lose at Sunday's wedding. And can you guys throw us a crumb here-- a little affectionate dialogue btwn Gina and Ani, a little physical contact, a dream about the other, anything? We've earned it after everything we've been through.
Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). These two episodes were slow and less emotional than I had expected. On Sunday, Gina should crash the wedding , profess her love and refuse to leave. Now that would be a good show!
