Just catching up on previous episodes of SOA. Is it just me or does it seem like these episodes are dragging? And running past the usual one hour air time is definitely not helping it. Episode 5: "The Mad King"
From Wikipedia: Gemma confides to Wendy that she always thought Wendy was better for Jax than Tara. Tara confides to Wendy that she wants her to take care of the kids if Tara leaves town. The SAMCRO crew hunt down Galen and his crew, capturing a few guys. The IRA elders in Ireland don't like Jax's retaliation, but Jax tries to convince them that Galen is out of control and trying to profiteer for himself. Jax tells the IRA elders that Mr. Marks will be a solid customer for the arms shipments, despite being black. The SAMCRO clubhouse is on lockdown until Jax spots a shamrock pen. Jax realizes there's a bomb in the beer keg that was delivered earlier the same day. After everybody runs to safety, the SAMCRO clubhouse explodes. The county sheriff arrives, but we don't know whose DNA was identified in Nero Padilla's truck.
Episode 6: "Salvage"
From Wikipedia: Some motorcycle cops who pull over the Charming chapter turn out to be dirty cops running a stolen motorcycle ring. Jax holds a summit meeting with all the West Coast SOA chapters; the message is too much risk in guns; they all agree. The state attorney still threatens to prosecute Tara unless she testifies against SOA. The Sheriff searches the deceased Lee Toric's motel room; Nero is one crime scene unit away from being cleared of the dead hooker's murder. The IRA elders still insist Jax committed a betrayal, but Jax agrees to facilitate the transfer of the guns operation to Clay. Although Clay is still in jail and it's unclear how Mr. Marx (Pope's guy) will react to losing the gun deal.
Grade: 3 1/2 Monsters (out of 5). There are a few good moments but overall I'm not feeling it. What say you?
