Sleepy Hollow Episode 4 Recap: The Hessians Are Coming!

Sleepy Hollow is a hotbed of paranormal activity. Is it built on a hell mouth or what?

Much of this episode (named "The Lesser Key of Solomon") was spent with Jenny and Abbie arguing. It turns out Jenny was working with Sherriff Corbin too. He told her to retrieve a sextant from his cabin if anything happened to him. The sextant is actually a project which reveals the location of a chest that was stolen from the British during the Boston Tea Party.

The chest is a secret weapon that when activated will release a bunch of demons (72 to be exact). The Hessians have been hanging out in Sleepy Hollow awaiting word from the demon Moloch to activate it. Didn't anyone in town wonder what all the weirdo German guys were doing?

Anyway, the Hessians take the map, go to an old church, read from a book (which is the key) and open the portal. They threaten to kill Abbie but Jenny doesn't seem to care that much. Abbie throws the book into said portal and it's closed. The CGI on this was pretty bad. It reminded me of the Indiana Jones Ark of the Covenant scene.

Observations:

Who knew Ichabod played such a prominent place in history? This week we find out he organized the Boston Tea Party. Next we'll learn he build the pyramids.
And for those who don't know, Hessians were German soldiers that were loyal to the British crown.
It is revealed that demon Jenny and Abbie saw in the woods all those years ago is named "Moloch". Well at least he wasn't Bruce or something like that (cause Bruce is not a very scary demon name).
Ichy helping the OnStar lady through her relationship issues was funny.
We are reminded that Ichy has a photographic memory.
Why are they worried about Abbie being a conservator over Jenny so she can get out of the mental hospital? She's already left a number of times. It's just another way for the sisters to bond.
